One Cathedral Square is located between Bristol’s historic College Green and the Harbourside area. Originally constructed in 1987, it had fallen into disrepair, and our client, Castleforge Partners, sought to refurbish to Grade A standard, to meet the growing demand for such space in Bristol.
Given Linesight’s extensive fit-out experience, the team was engaged to provide a full suite of services, including Cost Management, Program Management, Project Management, Project Controls, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Risk Management, Project Monitoring and Consultancy services.
The comprehensive fit-out involved the strip-out and refurbishment of 70,000sq.ft. of office space to CAT A Fit-out status. A new façade was created to refresh the exterior of the building, with the existing external cladding to the front stripped back to structure, and new glazed curtain walling and stone panel system installed. Existing balustrading to the west facade was removed and replaced with new windows, and the existing parking facilities were retained at basement level. New mechanical and electrical services were provided, along with new staff facilities, such as showers and cycle racks, and the bathrooms on each floor were also fitted out to a high specification.
Since being acquired by F&C Commercial Property Trust (FCPT), which is managed by BMO Real Estate Partners, the University of Bristol and Dyson Technologies are now tenants of this premium space.
One Cathedral Square was a finalist at the BCO Awards 2018 for the South of England and South Wales, recognised in the ‘Refurbished/Recycled Workplace’ category.
