One of the leading multinational financial technology companies engaged Linesight to provide full cost management services for the commercial fit-out of its new office in Beijing, China. The new office is located at Beijing’s Central Business District and is the confidential client’s biggest office in China, with a total net floor area of over 30,000 sq.ft. In addition to supporting the growth of the business and its labour force, the facility boasts an impressive design that integrates local cultural elements, whilst maintaining the client’s global brand identity.
Linesight worked closely with all stakeholders, including the client, the project management team, design and build contractor and other suppliers, to ensure effective cost tracking and control. The collaborative and proactive approach of Linesight’s team based in China demonstrated strong technical expertise, which was instrumental in successful project delivery on time and within budget and cost reductions achieved.

The construction of the new office was completed in 2022 and the project’s success criteria of completion within the agreed cost and quality parameters involved:
Led by Country Manager for China, Helen JieShao, the client recognised Linesight’s local and technical expertise and skills to complete cost management services, which involved providing cost estimates based on test fit, supporting procurement requirements including bill of quantity (BOQ) preparation, review of supplier quotations and price negotiations, as well as value engineering cost checking and change management.
The team also showcased their ability to quickly adapt to changing environments such as project suspensions due to city events as well as the repeated lockdowns due to the pandemic. In addition to the project outcome, the Linesight team also provided bespoke market insight reports which assisted in navigating the challenges, especially in terms of material price fluctuation, resulting from key global events.
