As a global hotel group, Marriott International had four Irish hotels operating under the Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, Sheraton and Westin brands. Partnering with Pembroke Hospitality several years ago, the client sought to launch the first Aloft Hotel in the Blackpitts area of Dublin’s Liberties. Linesight has worked with Pembroke Hospitality and Marriott International on various projects previously, both individually and where they have partnered, and was appointed to continue these relationships onto this cutting-edge project.
Linesight was the Employer’s Representative for the project, and provided Cost and Project Management services on the construction and turnkey fit-out, including full furniture, fixtures and fittings, and operating supplies and equipment. The Aloft brand targets tech-savvy travellers while offering relatively low room rates, has over 100 hotels worldwide. This much-anticipated hotel is a high-tech, 202-bedroomed space, complete with a spectacular 7th floor panoramic cocktail bar and casual dining area, meeting rooms and an on-site gym. The original Tenters pub on the corner of Blackpitts and Mill Street is currently undergoing a complete fit-out to transform it to a gastro pub, to open in April 2019 as an additional offering for guests and the public. .
“We chose to work with Linesight again on the Aloft Hotel project because of the team’s local market knowledge and their extensive international hotel construction experience. In addition to a number of Irish projects, Linesight is also working with us on other overseas hotel projects with Pembroke Hospitality, having previously collaborated with us on the Marriott hotel in Haiti. They provide Director-level involvement from senior team members from the get-go, which demonstrates to us how committed they are in ensuring that our goals are met. Aloft Blackpitts is a development in an exciting part of Dublin 8, and we are confident that it meets the needs of the growing tourist and local population, looking for a sophisticated, high-tech, affordable hotel in a great location.”
