Planning permission has been upheld by An Bórd Pleanála on the 34-storey Port of Cork hotel and commercial tower. When complete, it will be the tallest building within the Republic of Ireland, located on Custom House Quay in Cork City. Linesight is delighted to be providing Cost Management services on this historic project on behalf of New
York-based Tower Holdings.
In addition to the 240-bedroom hotel on the site, plans include proposals to rebuild bonded warehouses on the site as a maritime museum and shopping area, along with a distillery at the property’s eastern end. It involves conservation and repair works on the existing and
protected Custom House building, to provide a reception, bar, restaurant, function areas, plant and ESB substation for the hotel.
The landmark project will support the re-development and regeneration of this part of underutilized urban land in Cork City Centre, and comes just days after the state announced a €353 million investment in the city's docklands to help drive future development.
The project team also includes:
Conservation Architect: JCA Architects
3D Architectural Visualisation: Pedersen Focus
Civil Structural, M&E and Transportation Engineer: Arup
