Linesight appoints new Country Lead for Malaysia

Global construction consultancy Linesight has announced the appointment of Michael Freeman to the role of Country Lead, Malaysia.

Michael has more than 15 years of senior project management and cost management experience as a construction and MEP professional. He has a demonstrated history of effectively managing large-scale construction projects across infrastructure, tech, finance, hospitality and commercial sectors. Most recently, Michael was Project Director for large Data centre projects out of Linesight’s Taiwan office.  

Southeast Asia remains a strategic growth region for Linesight as global businesses seek opportunities to establish and expand their operations. Notably Malaysia, which has attracted substantial investments, is emerging as a prime destination for companies in mission-critical sectors. In Michael’s new role, he will drive the firm’s growth ambitions in Malaysia across key sectors such as Data Centres, Life Sciences and Semiconductors.   

“I’m thrilled to be returning to South East Asia, having delivered projects previously in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam” said Freeman. “Malaysia is on the cusp of huge construction growth and I’m excited to leverage my knowledge and experience with clients and partners to deliver projects in country.” 

Freeman will report to Scott Halyday, Regional Director, South East Asia. Scott has provided further comment, “Michael brings a wealth of experience to the role and is well positioned to spearhead our growth ambitions for Malaysia. Under Michael’s leadership, Linesight will continue to deepen its local presence in Malaysia, supporting clients to address the construction investment demands of a thriving region”.
