Project Manager - Data Centre Construction

Requirement for travel to project sites across the EMEA region
In this role you will:
- Oversee the full lifecycle of data center construction projects and retrofit projects, from intake to handover. Direct a regional team for successful project execution across multiple projects in the EMEA region.
- Cultivate strong relationships and coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for all project phases.
- Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project strategies aligned with business objectives including quality, time, cost and health & safety.
- Ensure alignment of project scope, objectives, and deliverables with business needs, technical and commercial requirements.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices, building codes, and safety regulations, maintaining the highest standards of quality.
- Drive efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements and best practices in project execution.
- Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage project risks, ensuring contingency plans are in place.
- Facilitate regular project status meetings, providing updates, progress reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
- Manage and escalate contract negotiations with the supply chain to ensure timely project completion, competitive pricing and quality adherence.
- Monitor overall project expenditures, ensuring adherence to regional budgets and identifying opportunities for scope optimisation, value engineering and cost savings.
- Drive innovation in construction methodologies and technologies, optimising efficiency and sustainability.
- Engage with the project scheduler in the development of comprehensive project schedules, utilising advanced project management tools to track progress and identify critical paths.
- Support the project controls team with the project portfolio development and change management processes to effectively manage scope, schedule, and budget variations.
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have grown your experience over 10 years in construction project management, with a strong focus on data center projects
- Have a Bachelor’s degree or a professional qualification in a Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex construction projects and strong knowledge of data center infrastructure and systems.
- Have a strong understanding of budget management, cost control, risk and schedule management
- Are an excellent communicator verbally and in writing
- Are enthusiastic about being part of a regional team, and able to flex your hours to engage across regions and time zones
- Have excellent IT skills with a strong focus on data processing, management and analytics
- Adapt to new processes with agility and enthusiasm
- Love a dynamic environment with the opportunity to manage your own priorities and deadlines
- Thrive on building strong relationships with your team and clients through a shared purpose and sense of openness and fun
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Possess excellent planning, organisation and people management skills
